FIVS-SCE
The criminalistics and pre-law emphasis option (FIVS-LWE) is the non-FEPAC accredited option within the department. This option is best for students that wish to apply to law school, study the liberal arts, earn their teaching certificate after graduation, or pursue careers outside of the crime lab.
Communication, creative arts, history, language, political science, and social science electives to be selected from the University Core Curriculum and in consultation with the student’s academic advisor.
Six hours of international and cultural diversity electives are also required; these courses may fulfill other degree requirements as well.
Directed electives ay be chosen from one of each three categories listed below. The remaining directed electives may be selected to support the student’s career and educational goals in consultation with the student’s advisor.

Students must choose one course (minimum 3 hours) from each of the three categories of pre-law directed electives. The remaining pre-law directed electives must be selected in consultation with the student’s advisor based on career and educational goals and from the current list of approved list published by the department.
